Whether you’re tired of constantly filling in your brows or just want a more polished look, this popular beauty treatment offers a simple, long-lasting way to enhance and define your eyebrows without the daily hassle.
When I first thought of getting my brows done, it took me a long time to finally pull the trigger, and after that, it took me a long time to decide who I wanted to go to! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know before your first appointment.
Permanent or Semi-Permanent?
We often use the terms "permanent" and "semi-permanent" interchangeably when discussing brow permanent makeup because while the results are long-lasting, they do gradually fade over time. Unlike traditional tattoos, which penetrate deeper into the skin and last forever, permanent makeup uses pigments deposited in more superficial layers, allowing them to naturally fade over 1-3 years. This makes permanent makeup a better choice for brows as it allows for updates and adjustments over time as your face and style evolve.
What is Brow Permanent Makeup?
Brow permanent makeup is a cosmetic "tattooing" technique designed to enhance your natural brows.
We offer a range of methods to suit your style and brow goals, including:
Microblading: A detailed technique using fine, hair-like strokes to mimic natural brow hairs. This option is ideal for those looking for a subtle, natural finish.
Powder Brows: Also known as ombré brows, this style creates a soft, shaded effect, similar to a filled-in look with makeup, perfect for clients who prefer a defined brow.
Combo Brows: A combination of microblading at the front of the brow for natural strokes and shading throughout the rest to add density and depth.
Blading and Shading: This technique is similar to combo brows but more detailed. We microblade the entire brow first, creating hair-like strokes across the whole brow, and then apply shading in between the strokes for a fuller, textured look. It’s perfect if you want both precision and extra volume but still looking natural.
With these techniques, you’ll have stunning brows that last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on your skin type and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
How long does it last?
It can last anywhere between 1-3 years but retention varies by each individual.
Retention of brow permanent makeup can be influenced by several factors:
Skin type is key—clients with oily skin may experience faster fading due to excess oil pushing the pigment out, while dry or normal skin tends to hold pigment better.
Sun exposure can also cause fading, as UV rays break down the pigments, making sunscreen essential for protecting your brows.
Aftercare is crucial—following the proper healing process by avoiding water, sweat, and picking at scabs ensures better pigment retention.
Medications and medical conditions such as thyroid disorders, autoimmune conditions, or blood thinners can affect how your skin holds pigment, often leading to quicker fading.
Metabolism also plays a role—those with faster metabolisms may find that their body breaks down pigments more quickly.
Additionally, lifestyle factors like regular exfoliation, facial treatments, or the use of skincare products with retinol or acids can speed up the fading process. To maintain vibrant, well-defined brows, regular touch-ups are recommended.
Who is Brow Permanent Makeup For?
Brow permanent makeup is an excellent choice for anyone who wants:
More Time in the Morning: No more rushing to perfect your brows—wake up every day with flawless, ready-to-go brows.
Fuller, More Defined Brows: If your brows are naturally thin, patchy, or uneven, permanent makeup can add fullness and correct any irregularities. If you don't have brow hairs at all, no problem - that's what we're here for!
A Long-Lasting, Smudge-Proof Solution: Unlike traditional brow makeup that may fade or smudge during the day, permanent makeup stays in place, keeping your brows looking perfect all the time.
Symmetry: If your brows are uneven, we can reshape and balance them, ensuring they complement your facial features.

The entire appointment time varies with each individual, but can take anywhere between 1.5-2.5 hours.
4. Aftercare Instructions: After your session, we’ll guide you through the aftercare process to make sure your brows heal properly and look their best.
Healing and Aftercare
Healing typically takes about 10-14 days, with full results showing around 4-6 weeks. Here’s what to expect:
Initial Days: Your brows will look darker and exaggerated, they may be slightly swollen. This will gradually subside.
Scabbing & Flaking: Around days 4-7, your brows may begin to scab and peel lightly. Avoid touching or picking at them to ensure the pigment settles properly.
Fading: After flaking, your brows may appear lighter. Don’t worry—this is normal. The true colour will emerge over the next few weeks. Trust the process!
Touch-Up: A touch-up is typically needed 6-8 weeks after your initial session to refine the shape and colour and any faded areas.
During the healing process, avoid getting your brows wet, sweating excessively, or exposing them to the sun. Following our aftercare instructions will help you achieve the best possible results. See full Aftercare Instructions.
